Clarion Car Audio has always been at the forefront of mobile sound. Established as Hakusan Wireless Electric Company in Japan in December 1940, the company produced Japan’s first car radio and first car stereo. The company first began exporting audio products to the United States in 1958, forming the basis for car audio exports from Japan. By 1970, Hakusan can gone through several mergers and grew to the point where it changed changed its trade name to Clarion Co., Ltd. to establish a global presence. Clarion continues to be a leader in mobile audio, car entertainment systems and mobile safety devices.
